Buildings which had been developed for Local Authority Fund became the country's parliamentary buildings. In 2003 the Government embarked on the construction of a new debating chamber which was completed in June 2005. Tanconsult, a local consulting firm, was involved in the project from design stage to completion.

The sad and sweet story of Tanzania's Central Bank

Bank of Tanzania premises which were built in 1965 were destroyed by fire in 1985; refurbishment was carried out between 1986 and 1990. In view of the growing activities of the Central Bank extension of the premises were put in hand between 1993 until 2004. An impressive twin tower with a conference centre and parcade stand proud in the skyline of Dar es Salaam. TANCONSULT was involved in this development throughout this period as consulting engineers.

The building called Tanhouse was demolished in 2010 to give way to a more modern property.
